Today in Sex 12.22.2008

Dr Mahmood Bhutta, an ear, nose and throat specialist at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, had a patient who suffered "uncontrollable" sneezing fits every time he had a sexual thought. Bhutta decided to probe further and Googled "sex, sneeze, or sneezing." He came up with reports by 17 people who said they sneezed after sexual thoughts, and three people who sneezed after orgasm. Bhutta's paper suggests that sexual thoughts or orgasm might trigger the body's subconscious nervous system, which could lead to sneezing in some people. The report appears in the Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine.

So, after someone sneezes, instead of saying "Gesundheit," we should probably ask "Was it good for you?" The really amazing part of this story is that typing a few words into Google now, apparently, counts as a "scientific study." That Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine clearly has some very high standards for research.

PC World explores how online porn has changed the Web -- for good and ill. Porn sites were among the first to use the online pay system which made sites like Amazon and EBay possible. On the other hand, online porn has also been the progenitor of spam and spyware.

Just as we always suspected: Sitting around all day looking at naked people online is a socially useful act. Not only has online porn helped the 'Net evolve, it's done wonders for the hand lotion and tissue paper industries.

A Chinese woman who uploaded a video of herself performing sex acts is in jail. The woman, surnamed Huang, was detained by Chinese officials for "spreading pornography." The 12-minute video appeared on the Internet at the end of October. All pornography is illegal in China.

The title of this viral gem? "Kappa girl at Shanghai No 1 Department Store's East Building." Hot. Those Chinese are nothing if not creative.
